How To Get Rid of Love Handles?
Getting rid of love handles is all about diet and exercise. They're not mutually exclusive. If you eat really clean but don't work out, you will not get rid of your love handles. On the flip side, if you work out all the time but don't eat right, you won't see any results either (actually, this is worse than than eating right and not exercising, since it's estimated that 80% of getting rid of love handles is related to your diet). There is a sacrifice that has to be made.
Since what you eat is such an important factor in getting rid of love handles, let's look at what your diet should consist of, and what you should avoid. First off, try to snack on fruits and vegetables instead of reaching for sugary desserts and potato chips. Eat a banana or an apple instead. Also, try to introduce as much fiber as possible, since it is a great "fat fighter." Fiber actually helps to push fat out of your system. A great choice is whole grain oatmeal, not instant. I eat this just about every day for breakfast. To be honest, I don't really like the taste of it when it's standing alone, so what I do is stick a cup and a half in the blender, with a bit of milk, and some cinnamon. This actually makes it taste good!
For your other big meals, try to eat chicken and fish. As you start to get rid of your love handles, you can add lean red meat like top sirloin and pork like pork tenderloin and pork chops. Don't feel like you have to cut out all carbs. Brown rice is a great choice, but again, it's not the best tasting food in the world. So I add some teriyaki sauce WITHOUT high fructose corn syrup, which can be hard to find, but it can be done.
I want to emphasize the importance of not consuming high fructose corn syrup. This stuff is the devil of foods! It's a cheap replacement for table sugar, but it harms your body probably more than any other ingredient, except for maybe trans fat. High fructose corn syrup actually tricks your brain into not thinking it's full. So, you could consume a meal with lots of high fructose corn syrup, and still be just about as hungry as when you started! The problem is, this stuff is in just about everything, from soda, to cereal, to even pasta sauces, so be sure to read the labels.
Another helpful tip to make healthy eating easier: nuts are actually very good for you! Yes, they have fat, which is why many dieters avoid them. But it's good fat, not saturated like the kind you find in animals. Nuts have actually been found to help burn fat. Still, they do have fat in them, so eat in moderation.
Be sure you are eating every three hours. You want to keep your metabolism moving. This will also prevent you from getting to the point where you're starving. Those are the times when we are the weakest, and tend to give in to our cravings. Drink plenty of water, about an ounce for a pound of body weight.
As far as working out, I would recommend an emphasis on weight training, regardless of your sex. Many women are afraid to lift weights, saying "I don't want to get to big and bulky." But that's not going to happen, unless you take some sort of weight gainer supplement! Physiologically, women can't get really big muscles, without some help.
What will happen for you is that you'll get that toned look every woman dreams of having. The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn, meaning you're going to get rid of your love handles quicker. I also would not focus too much on ab exercises, even though you want to target those muscles to get rid of your love handles. When you work your abs, you aren't really building muscle. You've got to strip away the fat before you can actually see the muscles down there.
Again, this program is not easy, and it won't happen overnight, but with some simple lifestyle changes, you can get rid of love handles in about a couple of months. //Jennifer Stoba
